PURPOSE STATEMENT

  • This location offers Intermodal and Truckload Freight Brokerage services.
  • We are looking for an experienced Intermodal Operations dispatcher to help grow this successful operation.
  • The candidate should have proven operations experience with domestic or international operations.
  • Experience working with port and rail ramp trucking companies as well as equipment providers is necessary.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMESKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

  • Coordinate and route shipments to various intermodal drayage providers
  • Secure rail equipment to handle shipments on a timely basis
  • Select proper rail routing to ensure excellent customer service at the best cost
  • Track and trace shipments
  • Provide solutions to customers and carriers with any problems that may arise
  • Negotiate rates with carriers and customers

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCEKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Associates Degree in Logistics and/or 2-5 years of experience in the Logistics industry preferred
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Previous experience with Transportation Management system required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Email
  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
