Job Description

Apex Life Sciences has an immediate contract opening for a Chemical Operator to join Our Client's production team!

Job Function: 

  • Blend, test and pack coatings for customers quick response needs.
  • Fill small quantity orders for all of our internal and external customers.
  • Reads production orders, accurately interprets and calculates exact types, volumes and weights of required chemical ingredients.
  • Exactly follows instructions and procedures to assemble and combine proper types and amounts of liquid and semi-viscous ingredients into containers.
  • Records weights and volumes.
  • Pours or transfers material into containers by using spatulas, scrapers, pumps, etc.
  • Cleans machines and accessories.
  • Occasional lifting of 30 pounds.
  • Follows all prescribed operating and equipment handling procedures.
  • May perform QA tests for in-process production batches.
  • Complies with Health, Safety and Environmental requirements and procedures at all times.
  • Pre-Batching - Preparing ingredients for blending and packaging (10%)
  • Measuring - Measuring ingredient amounts into vats, vessels, or cans for blending (15%)
  • Blending - Blending materials at the correct speed for an appropriate amount of time based on formulation. (15%)
  • Spraying - Spraying panels for color evaluation and customer requirements. (25%)
  • Filling - Packaging the product based on internal and external requirements (20%)
  • Cleaning - Cleaning all equipment used to process products and keep area neat. (10%)
  • Documenting - Ensuring trace-ability and track key process indicators by recording information accurately on work orders. (3%)
  • Other tasks as assigned (2%)
