Apex Life Sciences is seeking an Associate Specialist for a LIMS project!

Hours are Monday - Friday 8am-5pm



Summary: Establishing and maintaining test builds within the appropriate computer application for use by client's group laboratories, based on information within the appropriate pharmacopoeial compendia and supplied by the client's laboratories.



Associate Specialist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Interpret compendia and other available information resources to configure tests, test lists and test groupings appropriate for client's use, utilizing best practices
  • Communicate directly with client's laboratories to establish site-specific information where appropriate
  • Provide input relative to the update of standard pricing information
  • Build new tests and test groupings upon client's laboratory request
  • Manage the maintenance of tests, test lists and analytical definition to support compendia updates and annual price changes
  • Communicate regular updates to supervisor

Preferred experience:

  • Minimum of high school diploma.
  • Experience working in a lab or with a LIMS system preferred but not required.
  • Experience in Laboratory Information Management Systems preferred; knowledge of pharmacopoeial compendia preferred.


The ideal candidate would possess:

  • Ability to follow priorities, SOPs and ability to work on several tasks simultaneously (under stressful conditions) to meet deadlines.
  • Prolonged usage of computer systems (>75% time).
  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and internal/external clients.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
