Job Description


In this position of Associate Director Biostatistics US you will report to the managing director. You will provide support and direct the US Biostatistical Services department and ensure the management of the resources in the teams according to the priorities. More specifically you will: 

  • Be in charge of complex projects requiring a long-term experience and high level competencies in Biostatistics
  • Estimate the resources needed for projects in the Statistical team
  • Provide help, guidance and training for members of the US statistical team
  • Establish plans for the development of the department together with the Biostatistical Services management team
  • Ensure communication between and within teams

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise US Biostatistical Services activities and individuals: development plan, training, coaching, recruitment, performance reviews, and career development
  • Recruit new permanent or temporary US staff members in accordance with the department workload
  • Plan activities, allocate resources to teams, monitor the progress of the work, and ensure the work is delivered on time
  • Assist the Business Development team in preparing contracts and proposals regarding biostatistics services
  • Ensure that appropriate documentation is produced and maintained for each project
  • Actively participate in professional meetings and maintain industry contacts
  • Perform senior review of clinical trial design, statistical analysis plans and reports

Education and Training:

  • Formal education required: Master of Science in Biostatistics or Equivalent

Profile and Experience:

  • At least 10 years of experience as Biostatistician with at least 5 years in the Pharmaceutical industry specifically in Clinical Trials and at least 2 years in line management
  • Experience in people management and resource planning
  • Extensive SAS programming experience
  • Working knowledge of CDISC SDTM/ADaM standards
