Job Description


Apex Life Sciences is looking for candidates with industrial manufacturing experience (machine operators) to join our client's team! The company is a small, but well established manufacturer, and is a great company for someone looking for a long-term position. This is a 6 month contract to hire opportunity with a company in the Denver, CO area.

Summary:

Assistant press operators will be responsible for set up, run, and clean-up of one of many machines in the factory. If hired you will be assigned to a specific area to perfect your knowledge on that machine. Would report directly to production shift supervisors on your assigned crew.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Following all safety rules and procedures.
  • Reading factory work orders to learn customer requirements and specifications.
  • Accurately using tape measures and other measurement and test equipment
  • Coordinating activities with other crew members to minimize the time and materials required.
  • Performing various set up functions as directed by the operator, such as computer and paperwork reporting, balancing ink and plate work with the operator, asiding buckets of used ink to the storage area, obtaining buckets of new inks from the storage area, setting the feed section, pre-feeder section and setting/presetting the die cutting section.
  • Monitoring pre-feeder, including cutting, removing, and asiding feed unit straps; removing and asiding feed unit dunnage; watching for, removing, and asiding feed unit dunnage.
  • Performing various clean up functions, such as blowing down the machine, wiping off shafts, cleaning ink trays, sweeping the machine area, and picking up miscellaneous scrap.
  • Learning press operator duties and responsibilities.
  • Following prescribed procedures in all circumstances.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by supervision.

 Qualifications:

  • High School or equivalent preferred
  • Prior production experience
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to accurately navigate a computer screen
  • Ability to read a measuring tape and ruler
  • Ability to count
  • Ability and willingness to learn/ follow instructions/ ask questions/ and work in a team environment
