Job Description

Apex Life Sciences has an exciting opportunity with one of our leading pharmaceutical clients in the greater Philadelphia Area!!! This is a need for an Analytical Scientist to support a medical leave.  The ideal candidate will have BS in the sciences and experience in wet chemistry techniques. 

Position Summary

This position is primarily responsible for hands-on testing of experimental products developed by the client’s Product Development Department and the development of analytical methods.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Carries out all duties in accordance with applicable laboratory, chemical hygiene and EHS policies
  • Performs analytical testing to evaluate material and formulation performance, including but not limited to, assay, content uniformity, dissolution, viscosity, pH, etc. according to USP, JP,EP, CP, ICH and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Documents experimental work concisely and efficiently including detailed notebook keeping.
  • Supports cGLP requirements and associated internal policies and procedures.
  • Provides project status updates in a concise and timely manner.


  • B.S. degree in Chemistry, Biology or related scientific discipline
  • 0-3 years experience in a pharmaceutical laboratory environment preferred
  • Current dissolution testing experience is required with GC experience and HPLC experience is a plus.
  • Must possess an understanding of the practice, principals and theory of analytical techniques and the ability to troubleshoot methods and interpret data
  • Requires working knowledge of cGLP's as well as instrumentation and techniques required for pharmaceutical testing
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and computer aptitude are required
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Requires practical knowledge of cGLP’s and the ability to adhere to SOPs and protocols
