Job Description


One of the world's largest and most successful companies in the consumer goods and manufacturing industries is seeking a skilled Analytical Chemist in Maplewood, MN! This is a full time contract position of one year, with the possibility of extension.

Position Duties:

  • Responsible for providing critical testing support for several core manufacturing and R&D product platforms.
  • This analytical laboratory role will involve routine sample analysis, chemical inventory/disposal as well as standard instrument calibration and maintenance.
  • Hands-on general sample preparation and analysis in a variety of areas including LC chromatography, GC chromatography, GPC, FTIR, NIR, % solids etc.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Polymer Science
  • 2+ years industrial laboratory experience in chromatography and molecular spectroscopy and other general laboratory techniques.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Basic chemical laboratory techniques

Soft Skills

  • Detail-oriented with good communication and excellent problem solving skills
  • Able to work quickly/effectively as directed,
  • Capable of adapting to dynamic timelines/priorities and willing to learn new instrument operating systems and techniques as needed

Core Hours:
40 hrs per week
































Works with moderate work direction, and can identify issues/problems but may need assistance in resolving. Worker to assume responsibility for initiating and performing defined technical activities leading to new or improve products, processes or technologies on a program basis. Usually reports to a supervisor or senior technical individual. Duties and responsibilities may include initiating and completing technical activities leading to new or improved products or processes which have significant impact potential at a program level. Establish and cultivate a network of support (laboratory, manufacturing, engineering sales and marketing) to facilitate completion of assignments. Participate in project planning, and documents experimental data/observations in technical notebooks (or approved electronic files), prepares reports, and makes oral presentations. May also be required to provide technical supervision/management of other contingent technical workers.
