Job Description

Apex Life Sciences has an immediate Quality Chemist opening with a leading Consumer Product client near York, PA!

This position has overall responsibility for all facets of quality in a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment.  Ensures quality requirements are met while supporting production to achieve maximum line efficiency and minimal down time. 

  • Responsible at all times for promoting a safety culture and awareness within their area of responsibility.  Support all plant safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Responsible for having a clear understanding of, and adhering to, all Corporate and plant quality processes, procedures and methodology.
  • Maintain strict adherence to applicable quality plan (product sampling and testing plan, laboratory testing methods and all line audit procedures).
  • Responsible to notify all appropriate parties of non-conforming product (out of specification material and/or product) and take appropriate action to contain material/product.  Actively participate in corrective actions to return process to compliance.
  • Conduct chemical and physical product and packaging testing.
  • Perform incoming raw ingredient comparisons to standard to verify quality of received components.
  • Maintain equipment calibrations and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to solve problems and suggest/implement continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Interpret data results and recommend changes or corrections in order to maintain finished product integrity.
  • Document test results, audit information, procedures accurately and properly maintain batch records. 
  • Accurate and efficient data entry including lab, quality and other data.
  • Practice good lab housekeeping.
  • Schedule flexibility, ability to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned


  • HS Diploma or GED Required- Associate's Degree or BS Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in a quality lab and/or experience as a manufacturing quality inspector or floor technician in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is preferred.
