JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for a broad range of responsibilities to ensure that the needs of the business are aligned appropriately with the overall company goals, and the needs of employees. The Generalist will support employee relations, investigations, HR compliance, Talent Acquisition, and appropriate site communications. This role provides tactical guidance, counseling, and direction on performance management, employee development, HR polices, processes, and programs to employees and front line supervisors. The Generalist will be responsible for HR metrics development and appropriate analysis. The Generalist is also responsible for assisting supporting payroll processes, including guidance on FLSA compliance and resolution of timekeeping exceptions. This position will also play a role in administration and delivery of talent initiatives for employee development and training. This individual will provide support for and administration of the annual performance management and salary planning programs. This position will also support the recruiting & college relations programs, and serve as a role model for the Patheon Values and ensure compliance in all facets of Human Resources.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide employee relations support and guidance through policy interpretation and objective assessments of internal consistency.
  • Develop and maintain HR metrics and develop analysis of data & reporting on an ad hoc basis.
  • Maintain HR compliance including updating records and databases to current, accurate information.
  • Provide counsel on tactical performance management, employee development and engagement related items.
  • Assist talent acquisition as needed including support for managers with job description creation, job matching and development of compensation data.
  • Administer site timekeeping roll-up including exception resolution and FLSA compliance.
  • Administer, and when appropriate, deliver/facilitate employee and leadership development training, new employee orientation, and assist with onboarding processes.
  • Miscellaneous tasks, as required (audits, new program roll out, compliance, etc.)

Experience and Skills:

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of diverse HR experience required, including exposure to multiple areas of HR like performance management, investigations, HR analytics, and leadership development.
  • Bachelor degree or higher in Human Resource Management or related field
  • PHR Certification strongly preferred.
  • Strong HR Analytics experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint,¬†intermediate to high level Excel skills including pivot tables, v-lookup, and similar functions required.
  • Experience in screening, sourcing, interviewing, hiring and onboarding
